My parents live in Northern Pennsylvania surrounded by tons of trees. Their home is truly an escape and the doodles are obsessed with how much room they have to romp around compared to our “backyard” in Arlington. In 2015 I started a new Christmas tradition, I decided to DIY an ornament to send with our Christmas card each year going forward. I started brainstorming ornament ideas and loved the idea of using wood slices from the trees in my parents backyard as the ornament base. My dad is always a good sport when I rope him into my crazy ideas and cut me a bunch of wood slices that year.
