If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you may be thinking who are these Doodles you keep talking about and I get it, I don’t think I ever formally introduced them! I have two doodles, Olive who is a 2 year old F1B Mini Goldendoodle and Captain Parm an almost 1 year old Cock-a-Chon Doodle, that means he is Cocker Spaniel, Bichon, Poodle mix! You can keep up with their shenanigans on Instagram (@olive_theminigoldendoodle and @captainparm) and I also just added an ‘about me’ page for both of them to the blog (Olive’s About Me and Captain’s About Me).
Here are a few of their favorite things and some Christmas surprises Santa Paws will be leaving under the tree…
Land’s End Vests | My parents live in Northern Pennsylvania and last year for Christmas we got 25 inches of snow and it kept falling for a few more days! So these vests are not only cute, they are totally functional, keeping the pups warm when they want to play outside in the snow and cold. They also both have these snow boots that Olive practically begs to wear because she loves to run and these help her do so in the snow. Captain has yet to try on his pair, but I have a feeling he won’t like them as much as Olive.
Land’s End Small Canvas Totes | Having two dogs of nearly identical size harness-wise can be a bit tricky, especially when you like to buy matching harnesses. I was constantly taking extra time to figure out which harness belonged to which dog, so I ordered these small canvas totes from Land’s End and had them personalized with the dogs monograms. Now when getting ready to go for a walk or drive to Starbucks I can easily pull their harness out of the bag and their leash, making the task of getting them ready a breeze.
Bark Box Subscription | For a few months we received one box, but they definitely know when the other gets a different toy and the chew sticks were often to difficult to split in two, so I just signed up for a second box when they were running a ‘extra free toy’ promo a couple weeks ago. I hid away most of the Grinch toys we received this month to save for Christmas morning, but couldn’t resist giving them a couple to play with because they are just too cute! Also the Bark Box and Bark Shop toys are some of the most loved in our house, they are super cute and for my Doodles they hold up really well.
Bark Shop Toys | Like I said above, my Doodles love the Bark Box/Shop toys, one of their favorites is this birthday cake that I bought back in August for Olive’s birthday. I have been eyeing these gingerbread and this cute candy cane for Christmas, we also got this pup pie for Thanksgiving and they were big fans, so I might order this one for Christmas. It is always nice to have a special treat for them on a day where there is tons of food tempting them, I have found it helps me not treat from the table too much and they aren’t as tempted to sneak something
Ball Pit and Balls | Ok, so this is the Doodles big gift for Christmas and fingers crossed that they LOVE it! I saw on Instagram that in New York City they have a dog gym with a ball pit, all the pups romping around in it and knew that it was the gift. On Christmas morning the pups will find that Santa Paws has left this present near the tree! I can’t wait to see their reaction!
Tent and Tunnels Play Set | One week it was super rainy, so I ordered this tent and tunnels set from Amazon and my doodles LOVE it, especially Captain Parm! Seriously he is so curious and active and this keeps him entertained. He loves running through the tunnels and hiding toys in the tents. Just be mindful that it won’t last as long as it would if children were using it because of the dogs nails.
Nylabone Edible Dog Chews | My dogs have one of these as a midday snack almost every day and I swear it is the reason why they don’t chew up my house!
Bandanas | Admittedly these may be more for me than the Doodles, but they don’t seem to mind wearing bandanas, plus they look so darn cute in them. We get almost all of our bandanas from our bandana lady, Carol. She is even making Olive, Captain and all of their FURiends custom Christmas bandanas, I can’t wait until they arrive!
Sarah, would love to see all the pictures of the above escapades.
